- Biography
- Painter and occassional draughtsman illustrator on wood; trained in Rome, Florence and Frankfurt; returned to London in 1859 and elected RA in 1868. President of RA from 1878, and therefore ex-officio Trustee of BM. Elected to Trustees' Standing Committee 14 May 1891. Created a peer in 1896.
