- Painter, draughtsman and printmaker; amateur, born and died in Haarlem. Born in rich family, so not large output (3 paintings and 66 drawings). Pupil of Jacob Jordaens (q.v.) in Antwerp; later with Bega (q.v.) in Haarlem; 1652 in Haarlem Guild.
Stylistically similar to Bega, Cornelis Visscher and Gerrit Berckheyde (q.vv.). Drawings mainly figure and portrait studies, some genre and landscapes; 14 etchings dated 1664-1666, of which four after Salvator Rosa.
