Biography: Historian. Author, among other works, of volumes V-XI of the "Catalogue of Personal and Political Satires in the British Museum"; married to Eric B. George (q.v.). She was employed in the department of P&D as a special assistant from 14 October 1930 to 1954 to continue Stephens' catalogue of satires, and all her seven volumes of catalogue were set in type directly from her handwritten manuscript text. See Hind's report to the Trustees dated 15 September 1945 for an account of her work at the BM. Her achievement was astonishing, and her catalogues among the greatest produced by the British Museum.
