Mrs William Currie

Biography: Daughter of Col. Francis Gore, lieutenant-governor of Grenada and Caroline Beresford. Drawn by John Downman in 1791, in 1794 she married the banker and MP William Currie (q.v.) also portrayed by the artist. Inscriptions with the Downman study (not in Downman's hand) identify her as 'married to the banker' then as variously née Miss Gore and married to Mr William Currie of East Horsley, Surrey, or as née Miss Percy Gore and her husband of West Horsley.
