Directions for Using The Pentograph, By which any person unskilled in drawing, may copy Maps, Plans, Profiles, Drawings, &c. in different proportions to the original, reduced or enlarged, as marked on the bars; and copy of the same size..." Bill-head in Banks Collection (D,2.2541) states "Bought of Thomas Potts, Optician & Mathematical Instrument Maker To his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales..." The bill is dated "London 1811."
