Biography: Portrait painter and draughtsman in Ireland and England, born in Paisley in Scotland. In 1840 he married Jane Douglas daughter of the Kilkenny bookseller and auctioneer William Jackson Douglas who is named as a seller in some of the inscriptions of the prints made after his portraits, such as 1943,0410.853 (information provided by Brett Gordon Jan 2023). He died in London in Jan 1849 after having made a portrait of Lord Cardigan
