Commodore L. C. Sartori

Biography: A United States naval officer who served in the Pacific on USS Constitution in 1843 and at the Mare Island naval base at San Francisco in 1872. He was later commodore of the Phildelphia naval base in 1874 and subsequently retired to New Jersey. A Haida model canoe collected by Sartori came to the British Museum via the Inverarity Collection in 1976.
