Biography: Engraver & printer. Known for some illustrations to topographical works, e.g. William Thornton: “The new, complete, and universal history, description, and survey of the cities of London and Westminster” 1784. Baptised 30 Nov 1740 (St. Botolph Bishopsgate), the son of Thomas and Ann Rennoldson. Apprenticed to William Tringham (b. 1723; Goldsmiths 7.230) for seven years 10 Mar 1756 (the £10 premium paid “of the Charity of the Dean and Chapter of the Cathedral of St. Pauls”) – described as the son of Thomas Rennoldson, cabinetmaker, of the parish of St. Alphage, London. Free (Goldsmiths) 14 Mar 1764. Married Mary Amy Tringham (presumably his master’s daughter, Mary Ann b.1747) 14 Apr 1767 (St. Mary Aldermanbury). Apprentices: Miles Jefferys (1768 and again 1771 – the first apprenticeship cancelled because the boy was under fourteen years of age - £40); Robert Knight 1773; John Champnes 1793.
