Life dates: 1873-1937
Biography: Collector. Descendant of a wealthy Jewish family of Trieste with family estates at Precenicco near Udine. Acquired the Ca' Rezzonico in Venice in 1905 but subsequently ruined his fortune decorating and maintaining it, selling the family estates in 1922 and eventually, in 1935, handing over Ca' Rezzonico to the city of Venice. Patron of James Powell & Sons, Whitefriars Glassworks; commissioned 400-piece glass service from them in 1906.
