Biography: Assistant Entomologist in the Wellcome Research Laboratories (1920-1922) before becoming Senior Entomologist in the Ministry of Agriculture in Egypt from 1924-1930. He published a number of papers on the natural history of Egypt and Sudan. He also travelled in East Africa and Palestine; his papers are part of the Sudan Archive in the Archives and Special Collections in Durham University Library (collection code GB 0033 SAD). AOA Ethdoc 1771 contains two black and white photographs of the Shan (presumably taken c. 1962).
