- Born in London, Brown studied at the Epsom School of Art, Morley College and the Slade, before moving to New York in 1994. Primarily known as a painter, she has been influenced by the history of painting, in particular artists including Goya, Rubens, Delacroix, Géricault and Willem de Kooning. Although less frequently exhibited, her drawings deeply inform her painted work.
