Treatment; 11 Feb 2010; Light clean, check surface coating, remove old adhesive on surface. Address failing paper/paste repairs on lashings.; Organics

Reason: Temporary Exhibition
Description: Cleaned with vacuum cleaner and soft paintbrush and Chemsponge/smoke sponge (vulcanized rubber molecular trap, containing a minuscule percentage of mild soap i.e. <30grm per 500kg). Previous repair to broken vegetable fibre tensions with Japanese tissue paper were strengthened using tissue strips and arrowroot and alginate paste as before. Excess Mowilith 50 (polyvinyl acetate) adhesive reduced. As with previous assessments, it was decided not to flatten or repair the split in skin so as not to create additional stresses.
