Material: Body, peat, polyeurathane
Condition: Boxed in wooden box embedded in peat and supported on expanded polyeurathane.
Treatment: Excavated manually using spatulas, brushes and water spray. Stored between excavations in purpose built cool box at 4oC. Recorded photogrametrically (26/09/1984)
Result: Back revealed (24/09/1984), samples taken.

Treatment: Covered with clingfilm and 1" layer of peat. Support cast made using surgical resin impregnated bandage (3m) reinforced with epoxy casting resin (Tirantis) when cured backed up with polystyrene cushion secured in situ with the original box lid. Box and body turned over. Box removed, polyeurathane removed (27/09/1984).
Result: Second peat surface revealed (27/09/1984).

Condition: Very dry appearance with some fine hair cracks on stomach area. Strong colour contrast between markings on body.
Treatment: Treated with 3 applications of 10% *PEG 400 in distilled water followed by one application of 50% PEG 400 in distilled water to lightest and driest areas.
Result: More flexible hair cracks no longer visible, less colour contrast (June 1986)

Condition: Removed during treatment. Left elbow/ upper arm broken. R lower arm both bones broken.
Treatment: Repaired using 10% mowilith 50 PVAc Resin in IMS to consolidate and 50% PVAc Resin Mowilith 50 in acetone to fix in position reinforced with strips of nylon gossamer tissue where necessary.
