Reason: Permanent Exhibition
Description: Paint wetted out with white spirit (composition variable - petroleum distillate) (to prevent staining and deep penetration into the substrate) and Lascaux MFC (aqueous acrylic emulsion) was fed with a fine paint brush below the lifting flake edge. The flake was allowed to absorb for 5 minutes and then gently pressed onto the surface with tissue and held in position for 1 minute. Lifting lacquer treated in the same manner but with two applications and clamped into position with carbon fiber clamps.
