Description: Photographed in colour. 4 May 2004. Washed in Industrial methylated spirits (ethanol, methanol) and lightly brushed with small stencil brush. Washed with 5% Detarol (n-hydroxylethyl ethylenediaminetriacetic acid,trisodium salt) and brushed with stiff stencil brush to remove corrosion. The reduced lead was washed in gently running tap water for 4 hours, until the pH of the water remains unchanged. It was then dried through Industrial methylated spirits (ethanol, methanol). Consolidated using 5% Paraloid B72, ethyl methacrylate copolymer, in acetone, applied using brush.(2 applications); Cracked areas of damaged weight and broken areas was consolidated using 30% Paraloid B72, ethyl methacrylate copolymer, in acetone, applied using a pipette. Missing area with copper pins showing was temporarily with a piece of shaped plasticised board face with lead foil (old lead xray intensifieing screen) stuck to pins with HMG heatproof and waterproof adhesive (cellulose nitrate) then colour tinted with powder pigments and 5%Paraloid B72 (ethyl methacrylate copolymer).
