Reason: Temporary Exhibition
Description: Lifted from mount by undercutting with a scalpel. Lightly surface cleaned on recto using grated Staedler plastic eraser. Paper debris removed from verso using a poultice of Culminal (nonionic cellulose ether). Adhesive residue removed using cotton wool swabs moistened with tap water. Skinned areas supported and loss infilled using Japanese paper toned with Winsor and Newton artist's watercolours (organic,inorganic pigments,gum arabic), and Abra starch (wheat starch) adhesive. Humidified over capillary matting and Gore-Tex in a chamber and pressed. Inlaid using Japanese paper strips and Culminal (nonionic cellulose ether) adhesive and pressed again.
