Reason: Storage
Description: Mount slit around edges and removed away from print using a large pallete knife. Inlay cut around print edges to release print. Residual inlay on print verso thinned with a scalpel and remaineder removed using Culminal (nonionic cellulose ether) poultice. This was removed using a scalpel, cotton wool and water. Old adhesive and repairs removed similarly. Placed over Gore-Tex to humidify and pressed. Tears, skinned areas and losses infilled using Inoshi and Hosho Japanese tissues (toned where appropriate with Winsor and Newton artist's watercolours (organic,inorganic pigments,gum arabic)) and adhered with Abra starch (wheat starch) adhesive. Humidified over capillary matting and Gore-Tex in a chamber. Pressed under glass. Inlaid into BM inlay paper using strips of Tengujo Japanese tissue and Culminal (nonionic cellulose ether) adhesive. Pressed.
