Description: Cleaned with a small vacuum cleaner fitted with a flexible rubber hose, and a number 8 sable brush. A wet clean was not attempted because of the surface friability. Consolidated with 3% Paraloid B72 ethyl methacrylate/methyl acrylate in xylene, applied with a dropper. Refixed lifting areas with 50% Mowilith DMC2 polyvinyl acetate emulsion. Area treated with white spirit (to act as a separator and carrier) applied with a sable brush, No.6. Adhesive applied from a No.0 sable brush. Arms left to swivel after consultation with Vivian Davies.
