Reason: Storage
Description: Residual adhesive removed from verso using filtered tap water dampened cotton wool swabs and a micro spatula. More recent large old repairs removed from verso with water dampened cotton wool swabs and micro spatula. Tears, cracks and weak areas repaired with Tengujo and Wheat starch paste (gluten free). Losses supported with Tengujo and Wheat starch paste (gluten free). Losses filled with Usumino paper toned with Winsor and Newton artist's watercolours (organic,inorganic pigments,gum arabic), adhered with Wheat starch paste (gluten free). Object humidified for 2.5 hours over over Gortex and capillary matting within a chamber. Object pressed between blotters and boards. Object mounted into a Royal overthrow of 3ply Heritage Conservation Board and hinged in using Japanese paper adhered with Culminal - non-ionic cellulose ether.
