Treatment; 03 Nov 1993; Clean, remove overpaint, dismantle old restoration where required. Restic fill and paint.; Ceramics & Glass

Reason: Permanent Exhibition
Description: Cleaned with Ariel automatic (anionic and non ionic synthetic surfactants,sodium tripolyphosphate) in tap water applied with brush. Dismantled restored areas using Acetone applied on cotton wool swabs. Cleaned old adhesive with scalpel blade. Stuck hands and head with Ciba Giegy 396+397 epoxy resin. Filled chips on these areas with same epoxy+ Aerosil R5805 (fumed silica) as bulking agent. Stuck hat with pad of Milliput (epoxy putty). Leaves reused, stuck with Super epoxy (epoxy). Refilled with FEW surface filler (polyester) , Painted with Rustin's white polish (bleached shellac,ethanol,methanol) + Winsor and Newton fine dry artist's pigments (comp. variable) .
