Wooden fitting or attachment to a book cover (?) in the form of a cross. One end is slightly charred. The front and back are flat. The top end as a disc and the other end is chamfered and there is a sloping lateral projection on each side. One surface has been stained brown and a fragment of papyrus adheres. The other surface is plain, has been cut back at the base, and has six tiny fixing holes.
