Curator's comments
Acquired with the coffin 75193 with which it had been associated in a previous collection. This cartonnage is of an earlier period than that coffin and was made for a different person. It has been suggested that the name of the occupant was Nebset, but the interpretation of the relevant inscription is uncertain. The mummy which the case contained was removed and unwrapped in 1875, and was subsequently presented to the museum of the Royal College of Surgeons, London, where it was destroyed by an air-raid in 1941.
