- Description
-
Triangular inlay: two inlays in the shape of elongated isosceles triangles in opaque red (now lost) and white glass. Exposed surfaces glossy. Originally set within a cloison of thin bronze, the base now lost. The bronze walls or sides survive. Solder on the bronze has caused the metal to silver in areas. This frame was composed of a long strip which was carried over to enclose the next or companion inlay.

- Curator's comments
- The silver colour found on the metal of this inlay, as well as on the metal mountings of other inlays in this group is not tin as would be supposed. It is the flashing of the soft solder, which was composed of tin and lead with some copper, a typical soft solder. The analysis was made by Dr. A. Werner.
