bowl-fitting

- Description
-
Blown-glass fish: a small blown-glass fish, perhaps the 'bulti'-fish, in transparent colourless glass. Open mouth, long dorsal fin. The fins and doubtless the tail as well were formed by pincers. The eyes are formed by small pellets fused in place. This fish accompanied by similar marine fauna was doubtless fused to the outer surface of a bowl. The resulting decoration, virtually sculpture in the round, would have produced a luxurious effect. The tail and anal fin are broken.
