Bag-type sprang hair-net of undyed linen with stripes of dense and less dense netting; seams at sides; tapering slightly at top due to the grouping of the threads in twos; a draw string was threaded through the folded top edge, and the ends knotted together; along one side of the bottom is a brow band with a narrow cord of purple and yellow wool; opposite side was originally threaded with a double draw string, now missing; warp-linen (S spun Z ply); two selvedges and two ends; side seams top sewn in linen (S spun Z ply); brow band cord in purple wool (Z) and yellow wool (S)
