Description
Lower section of the red granite anthropoid sarcophagus of Pahemnetjer, High Priest of Ptah at Memphis, with incised representation of Isis at the foot and Nephthys at the head, four columns of hieroglyphic text, which continue onto the cover, on each side - describe Pahemnetjer as revered before various funerary and canopic deities (including Hapy, Anubis, Qebhsenuef, Thoth, Imsety and Duamutef), similar vertical lines of text at each end of the coffer record the deceased's name and titles. The cover shows Pahemnetjer wearing a beard and holding djed-column and ankh with a seated figure of Nut below; the one vertical and two horizontal registers of hieroglyphs record the name of the deceased and standard texts to Nut and Geb.
