Fragment of Carian painted pottery skyphos, decorated on outside in brown-black paint with horizontal line below rim, with (origianlly) two long-necked waterbirds facing across an ornament, in a panel with corner rosette; vertical chevron bordered by two vertical lines at the right hand edge; inside covered in streaky brown-black glaze. Fresh break at lower edge, where piece joins fragment in British Museum. Worn at top of rim. Brown-violet clay with a fair amount of small mica and numerous small to large lime inclusions. Rim slightly offset, as typical for skyphoi.

The use of the simplified version of roundel with radial strokes between two curved lines ('tramilines') is typical of the later phase of the Wild Goat style and is fund in Miletos in SiAId, from the end of the 7th century BC.
