Egyptian terracotta figure of Harpocrates wearing a headdress with the double crown of Egypt and two lotus buds. Head only. Mould-made and hollow. White (gypsum?) coating. Dark red-brown Nile silt fabric. Abundant fine gold mica, quartz, organics and white inclusions.

Object owned and held by the Museum of Classical Archaeology, Cambridge. This record is included in the British Museum database as part of the Museum’s Naukratis Project, a research collaboration that aims to virtually re-unite finds from the ancient port city of Naukratis, now distributed over 80 museums worldwide.

Probably made in Naukratis. An unprovenanced parallel dated to the Roman period, is a revival 'of a Late Hellenistic type' (Török 1995, 69 no.73).
