Ivory handle: a group in the form of two women standing back to back. They have long hair and necklaces, and are naked except for straight sided hats with vertical lines; these are sometimes called 'polos'-hats and are shaped like a fez. Above the heads of the women is a leaf-shaped capital. There is a circular dowel hole at the top, and remains of a peg on the base. This object was probably a handle, perhaps from a fan or mirror.

- Curator's comments
- On the Assyrian reliefs fans or fly-whisks with elaborate handles are shown being carried by attendants, and a mirror is held by Esarhaddon's mother Naqi'a on a bronze slab in the Louvre. The style of this and comparable pieces is generally regarded as Syrian.
