Curator's comments
This is one of a number of such tiles in Western collections from the Madrasat al-Ghiyathiyah at Khargird (1442-1446). The building was constructed for Ghiyath al-Din Pir Ahmad Khvafi, one of the viziers of Timur's son Shah Rukh.
