Budge requested this be made in letter dated 22 June 1895 to the Louvre in order to complement new arrangement of BM display.
The original sculpture is in the Louvre, where it is displayed in the Mesoptamian galleries. A second (uncoloured) plaster cast made by BMCo and marked "12bis" is stored with other Middle East casts at Blythe House and registered as C.27A
