An amulet, in the shape of a stylised eagle. Made of natural cream wool felt. Large cross ('+') motif applied in middle; embroidered white and red circles, with diamond patterning on a maroon 'ground'; worked in cotton yarns. Two cowrie shells stitched at end of each limb. Cross framed with two rows of linked couched green transparent plastic (?) beads. Six sections of applied woven wool cloth (recycled sections of kilim / tapestry cloth), all edged with either red or blue couched linked plastic (?) beads. Gold-coloured plastic round beads sprinkled over entire surface. Round blue plastic buttons stitched near edge of amulet, with a cowrie shell after every third button. Plied dark red wool cord stitched at edge, with a loop at the top for hanging. One green, two blue and two orange tassels suspended from bottom edge. Reverse made natural cream felt, with the addition of an orange grid and pieces of pink, green, blue and red felt; stitches visible.
