Description
Village woman's dress (thob) without sleeves made of faded indigo dyed handwoven linen. The chest panel (qabbeh) and skirt are embroidered with cross-stitch and connecting stitch in mainly red and embellished with pink, purple and white floss silk thread. On the front of the skirt the embroidery has wasted away, and the back is patched with a black coloured cotton. The hem is reinforced with a strip of faded cotton facing. The armholes are raw.
