A large bag, for food storage. Rectangular in shape and made from a single piece of weft faced tabby woollen cloth. The front face is woven with natural cream yarn, ground for large-scale diamond patterning, which is worked in discontinuous supplementary weft (not embroidered?), using red, yellow, blue, green, brown, orange and black woollen yarns. An interlinking double diamond, worked in lilac wool yarn, is the central motif. All framed by a black border of interlinking lines. Top and bottom have human (?) motifs, arranged in two-colour blocks. Back face has polychrome bands, unevenly dyed (home production?). Bag opening turned and hand stitched with pink wool yarn. Sides (selvedges) strengthened with plaited embroidery stitching, worked in blocks of colour.
