- Description

A girl's square cap, the interfaced cotton sides are embroidered in half cross-stitch and satin stitch with a triangular composition each with a bird atop a floral sprig in polychrome against a white ground. The base of the cap is edged with black silk velvet tape, the joined ogee panels connected to one another with green and black silk thread banding, meeting at the crown of the cap in a red and black diamond motif. The interior of plain red cotton lining is reinforced with parallel running stitch in white thread. An edging made of a floral cotton fabric in shades of navy blue, green, red, and white is machine-stitched to the interface, hemmed in by hand.
