Calcite-alabaster head of a woman(?); carved from yellowish calcite and polished; large lightly incised eyes, diminutive ears, triangular nose and lips in low relief, with two parallel incised lines beneath the chin either indicating a necklace or the neck; the top, bottom and back have traces of original stoneworking but are otherwise left unfinished; darkened surfaces.

- Curator's comments
- Originally set into a recess in a funerary stela. Surfaces are worn and there are no surviving traces of pigment. The appearance of this is similar to Sabaean pieces known from Marib.
