Woven Afghan war rug. Large rug with a beige background, a double border and long beige tassels. Predominantly worked in pinks, browns, oranges and black. The design is divided into three horizontal registers each with a central stylised military badge insignia. The top and middle registers feature two mosques with double minarets, tanks and other amoured vehicles, missiles, jets, helicopters and heart-shaped trees. The lower register with a central insignia in the shape of an urn, includes images of fighter jets, tanks and helicopters. Also included are symbols that appear to be letters from the Russian alphabet. The outer border is decorated with floral motifs while the wide inner border depicts stylised military designs often found embroidered on the epaulettes of military uniforms.
