- Collection was purchased with £5,000 from British Museum Society, £4,100 from WAA purchase grant and £900 from the Friends of the Ancient Near East.
The buckles were collected in the Caucasus in the last century by William Joseph Myers (1858-1899) an army officer who was killed in the Boer War.
