- Curator's comments
- The view shows the exterior facade of a late Sasanian fortified complex with regular semi-circular towers and pairs of intervening slits. Its modern name of Zendan betrays the popular local belief that it was the site of a prison. It is all that survives above ground of the royal city of Dastagerd and still survives to this day (2013).
