"Boat-shaped" lamp; smooth grey softstone (steatite) stone; pointed at each end with 2 deep, triangular chambers created by an internal dividing wall; incised pairs of zig-zag lines on the exterior walls; deep sided; three holes bored through partition, one at the top and two near bottom.

- Curator's comments
- Therre are several examples of this shape and material from the Japanese excavations at al-Tur on the southern Sinai peninsula, all from Early Islamic contexts (pers. comm. M. Kawamoto 17/9/03). However, it may be considerably later.
