Curator's comments
P – Andrae, FWA pl. XCI (Ass. 11652); C – KAH 2, 93; T – AKA 155 no. 1; Tr – ARI 2, 207-8 CI 67; B – ARI; Pr – Ashur.
Since the 1900 edition of the Guide to the Babylonian and Assyrian Antiquities demonstrates that the system of numbering bricks in the sequence 90000ff. was already in operation at that date, there is no possibility of any of the Museum’s three bricks being identical with the bricks found at Ashur by Andrae (Ass 35 and 123) as suggested by Grayson, ARI 2, 208.

Acquisition notes
This registration was given to all bricks in the British Museum's collection which had BM numbers but no identifiable registration, except for those lately registered in the 75-7-25 collection. Almost all of them will have been acquired in the 19th century, since the numbers in the series BM 90000-90825 seem to have been allocated in the late 1890's.
