Found in 1977,0226.1 (BM.136799).
The small size of this grooved penannular finger ring suggests that it was either made for a child or that it may have been worn between the first and the second joints as is depicted in the statue of Yasuduq'il Far, King of Awsan (see Simpson StJ 2002a, cat. 34). This custom is shown on a number of funerary sculptures from Palmyra and may have been practised by women in Roman Syria (Tanabe 1986a, 360, 373, 390, pls 329, 342, 359).
