A herald or messanger of the Janissaries wearing a high white headdress with gold brim and two small plumes in a holder, blue kaftan with a black lining, salmon-pink robe, yellow boots and white sash and carrying a staff of office. Inscribed. Album contains 124 paintings of Turkish sultans and court officials.
Ink, opaque watercolour and gold on paper. Album bound in green leather with pages of Persian paper, according to inscription. Page edges gilded with gold.
