A peyk; single-page painting mounted on album folio. A peyk, or running footman, running with a rabbit under his left arm and carrying his halberd over his right shoulder. Wearing a gold külâh-i peyk with an upturned brim of ermine and a long plume, red kaftan, blue knee breeches and yellow ankle boots. Inscribed. Album contains 124 paintings of Turkish sultans and court officials.
Ink, opaque watercolour and gold on paper. Album bound in green leather with pages of Persian paper, according to inscription. Page edges gilded with gold.
