The emiri ahur; single-page painting mounted on album folio. Master of the horse and superintendent of the stables carrying his emblem of office, a saddle cover. Wearing a scarlet kaftan, yellow boots and a tall white turban with a red cap. Album contains 124 paintings of Turkish sultans and court officials.
Ink, opaque watercolour, silver and gold on paper. Album bound in green leather with pages of Persian paper, according to inscription. Page edges gilded with gold.
