A sipahi zade; single-page painting mounted on album folio. The son of a sipahi (cavalryman) wearing a fur-lined black kaftan, red robe, gold belt, blue boots and white turban with a red cap. Inscribed. Album contains 124 paintings of Turkish sultans and court officials.
Ink, opaque watercolour, silver and gold on paper. Album bound in green leather with pages of Persian paper, according to inscription. Page edges gilded with gold.
