Portrait of a young woman; single-page painting mounted on album folio. Young woman seated on a small yellow and white carpet against a large bolster. She wears a red, black and white striped jacket, an orange blouse, and a green skirt with a red trim. Her high feather head-dress and striped hat has a red veil with floral decoration trailing down her back. She holds a fly-whisk in her right hand and leans her left hand against the gold bolster. Three orange fruits are on the carpet. Album contains 19 paintings of Persian costumes.
Ink and opaque watercolour on paper. Album bound in green leather with gold gilt trim, with pages of gold trim. Includes loose letter (in French) on thin blue paper describing contents and addressed to recipient.
