- A man trying to restrain an ass
Qazvin or Isfahan, 1590's
This drawing must have seemed as amusing in the 16th century as it does today. The muleteer has barely restrained his fully laden beast from drinking at a watering hole, presumably in an effort to stave off colic. (previous label text)
