- Description
-
Cylinder seal; cream lime plaster worked over a grey limestone core; the field is covered with quadrupeds facing right; one small couchant quadruped above two leaping animals with long, curved, notched horns; one of the leaping animals looks back. One long-bodied quadruped below and possibly a second shorter one, now obscured by a chip. Two horizontal lines in the upper field do not seem to be part of the animals. Line border at the top; bottom broken. The seal appears to have been damaged by heating, probably during cremation: one end has broken away and some of the surviving surfaces are misshapen. Badly chipped and lower end missing.
