Bowl and cover, made of polychrome glazed pottery. The bowl is of compressed rounded form and stands on a narrow flaring pedestal foot, with a domed cover and bud finial. It is painted in cobalt blue, viridian green and bole red outlined in black with overlapping sprays of tulips and carnations framed between cypress trees with forked tips. The foot with tulip buds alternating with rosettes between meander and arrowhead borders. A minor frieze of half-rosettes above and below the rim. The cover with similar decoration to the body with two rings of lancet leaves around the tip and base of the finial. The interior with a cypress tree and tulip stems in a double line medallion. The interior of the cover with a single bole red rosette.

- Two hairline cracks to rim of bowl; chips to rim of cover and tip of finial; scratching to interior of bowl; traces of unfired bole red on the base; cobalt and copper have run considerably under the glaze which has been applied unevenly and has an ice-blue tinge.
